CrossFit is EVERYWHERE these days

If you have friends or coworkers that enjoy working out, you might have even heard them talking about the newest CrossFit “box” (gym) that just opened up down the street.

You see CrossFit themed Reebok shoes.

You see Crossfit on ESPN.

Recently i had to accompany a customer on implementing Structured data markup (Schema.org) on a big website during the development of its new version. After SEO audit, i kicked off implementation stage with the Agile technical team. One of the main constraints of the development process was : We shouldn’t make the website public ! And in the other hand, i required using SDTT to validate JSON-LD code before deploy on production. So how should we deal with it ?

 

MULTIPLE RISK FACTOR INTERVENTION TRIAL

The 1982 Multiple Risk Factor Intervention Trial (MRFIT) was a multimillion-dollar trial to test the effectiveness of a complex intervention in reducing heart disease mortality. The trial randomized 12,866 high-risk men aged 35 to 57 years old into two groups: a special intervention (SI) group that received “stepped-care treatment for hypertension, counseling for cigarette smoking, and dietary advice for lowering blood cholesterol levels”; and a usual care group that had access to “usual sources of health care in the community.” There was no reduction in overall mortality in the intervention group, despite reductions in blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and smoking rates.

CrossFit Durham’s One-on-One 2019 Marketing Offer

“We’ve been looking for ways to increase our one-on-one and small group personal training, both to provide more service for our athletes and to give our Coaches an opportunity to make more money,” said David Rubin, the owner of the gym in Durham, North Carolina. “As we prepare to roll into the new year, our athletes are going to be thinking about New Year goals and things they want to work on. This was the perfect time to try to capitalize on that.”

Below, Rubin shares why they decided on the training package, the importance of 2019 marketing and more:

BP: How did you come up with this offer?

DR: We decided on a relatively small package that would not require the gym or the Coach to give a large discount on a valuable service and still be palatable to our athletes’ pocketbooks. We have a substantial email list and Constant Contact makes it easy to send out communications for these types of offers.

For the uninitiated, Crossfit is a strength and conditioning programme that involves constantly varied, functional movements – lifting, climbing, rowing, sprinting, and more – done at high intensity. To pump up the burn, you also use equipment such as barbells, gymnastic rings, kettlebells and medicine balls.

Sounds intimidating? Don’t let it put you off, because not only are the exercises scalable (meaning you can make them as easy or as difficult as you like), they can also be done anywhere. Beginners don’t have to tackle heavy weights straightaway as the priority during the initial phase is to get the move and posture right.
